About me

Hi! My name is Ailsa Wright . . .

Last year, I set myself the challenge to climb the seven summits, the highest mountain on each of the seven continents, in order to raise for the amazing Make a Wish Foundation, which grants magical wishes to children with life threatening illness.

I am currently studying for a degree in Arabic and Persian at the University of Exeter.

Apart from climbing mountains, i am a big fan of climbing rock, and living next door to dartmoor means rather than spending my time in lectures, i may be found clambering up slabs and crags around dartmoor!

I was a member of the Air Training Corps for 3 years, whom are partly to blame for my hobby of climbing very high mountains! The fantastic opportunities the Cadet forces gives young people to get outside and partake in adventurous training definately inspired me to aim high (literally!).  I also completed my Duke of Edinburgh Awards whilst in the ATC.

Having just moved to University, i have recently gained a place in the Exeter University Officer Training Corps  (EUOTC) and hope in future they will become a large part of my university life !
