Make-A-Wish Foundation® UK grants magical wishes to children and young people fighting life threatening illnesses.

Since being established in the UK in 1986, they have granted over 4,500 wishes. Make-A-Wish has no cures to offer and all too often some of our endings are sad but, during desperate times when there seems to be no hope, Make-A-Wish steps in and provides positive and uplifting relief. Most of all, a wish granted brings a time of magic and joy for the special children and families they serve.

Make a Wish FoundationThis year the charity is celebrating its 21st anniversary – Make A Wish was founded in June 1986 and since then have granted over 4500 wishes.
At any given time over 20000 children are living in the UK with life threatening conditions and it is the charities aim to grant 21 wishes a week by 2010.

Whether the wish is to be a princess or a policeman for the day, owning the latest computer, meeting a favorite celebrity or just some special time away from home with their family,  a wish coming true brings so much to these children’s lives and provides memories for the family that last a life time.

Having the dream of climbing mountains my whole life, when I decided to attempt to climb the seven summits, a friend suggested I raised for the Make a Wish Foundation.  I agreed as I had already raised for them in both primary and senior school, and knew what an amazing charity they were. Since I started my venture, I have been told by friends about their relatives and siblings who have had wishes granted by the Make A Wish Foundation, so I am climbing for them, as well as every child and the families who the charity helps. To climb mountains you have to be brave and determined, but nowhere near as much as the special children and young people that the Make a Wish Foundation supports.
